The pot has a barrel-shaped body with a recessed base, a lightly fluted, upward sloping spout, and an ear-shaped handle. The wall behind the spout is pierced by six holes to emit the tea. The circular cover rests on a ledge inside the mouth of the pot, and has a knob in the shape of a flower on a stem with two leaves. The underside of its rim, and the exterior of the flange which fits inside the rim of the pot are unglazed. Both sides of the pot are decorated with a circular gold wreath enclosing an arrangement of stylized polychrome flowers and foliage, outisde which are foud different floral sprays with a small leaf sprig between them. On the shoulder there is a mauve diaper pattern border with a wavy gold edge with groups of three dark pink spots at intervals. There are gold formal plant motifs on the back of the handle and the top and underside of the spout. The cover is decorated with small floral sprays and a border to match the shoulder.
