On the cup, the Coronation coach is going to the right, followed by a man on horseback and an Indian man, whose train is held by two Indian boys. Behind there are three crowned poles supporting bunting, and a banner inscribed 'LONG LIVE THE KING'. The rim is encircled by a blue band, and there is a blue stroke down the back of the handle. The saucer is decorated with the Coronation coach going to the left, with a banner above inscribed 'CORONATION', surrounded by bunting with a trumpet at the top, and a blue flag charged with a crown. The rim is encircled by a blue band.
