object type: Tall, cylindrical jar and cover, the sides slightly softened with visible throwing ridges. On the side, about two thirds up from the base, the clay has been squeezed out into a small vertical ridge, with a vertical dab of blood red to the right and the potter’s mark to the left. The body is coated with a shiny glaze, except the  neck, which is unglazed. The cover is circular with a short straight side and a very slightly domed top, and matt glazed. The underside is slightly indented and glazed, except for a broad foot-rim.
