object type: 18mo-sized hand-coloured wood engraving on white laid paper. The paper appears to have been cut down and may have been taken from a periodical. A hand-coloured vignette of a woman leaning against a wall beside a tree, a church seen in the background to the left. The woman turns her head to the right to see a dove flying towards her carrying a wedding ring in its beak. A verse printed below the image: "Others with looks that I could not mistake / Have tried a conquest of my heart to make / But thoughts of thee have taught my better sense / To view those efforts with indifference ...". A remnant of printed paper is affixed at the upper left corner. The verso is blank.
