object type: Chromolithograph on white wove paper, probably reproductive, of a female figure dressed circa 1870s, wearing a black and white dress with red frilled cape and small black and red hat, postioned at the front of her head. The woman looks away to the left as she drops a letter sealed with a dot of red wax into a hole in a tree. The subject seems to be a later formulation of Jessie McLeod's painting, _The Lovers' Letter Box_ (circa 1850s). The print has apparently been cut from a periodical and is affixed to the end paper of the album.
