object type: Hand-painting on white silk panel within lace-paper with a collage of hand-coloured flowers of cut-paper and green felt with tinsel leaves, a pink tissue slip behind. A message inscribed by the sender in black ink at lower left and right: "Keep it forever". MOSSMAN embossed at lower right and upper left corners. The paper has been folded around the edges. On the verso: "1820" written faintly in graphite. This card was included in the exhibition of valentine cards, _For ever thine: the nineteenth century valentine_, held in the Charrington Print Room at the Fitzwilliam Museum in 1995, no. 23.
