A small envelope of cream laid paper with hand-written inscription on the recto in black ink: 'Grammar of Love / Set of 6. / (_Possibly unique_) / c.183-'. The envelope once contained a series of 6 small 64mo-size comic valentines from the 'Grammar of Love' series. Four of the six are mounted onto the same leaf of album P.14412-R, nos. 92 to 95 and the remaining two are, P.14357-R and P.14373-R, which were also originally mounted here. The envelope probably originated with a dealer who was sending Glaisher valentines on approval. See also P.14412-R-L7, an identical envelope with an inscription in the same hand and which contained a number of valentines from a different series. title: envelope LICENSING --------- text license status: CC0 image license status: CC-BY-NC-SA OWNERSHIP --------- instutition: The Fitzwilliam Museum department: Paintings, Drawings and Prints creditline: Bequeathed by Dr J.
