  <description>
    <value>White lace-paper front mounted onto the album leaf. The central panel has a hand-drawn and painted illustration of a small naked Cupid sitting within a broken egg shell. A spray of hand-painted forget-me-nots below and a hand-written title in blue ink above: 'The Birth of Cupid'. 'MEEK' stamped at lower centre. 'Meek' is written in graphite onto the album leaf below the card. The hand is recognisable as that of Miss Catherine Parsons and is seen in other albums throughout the collection, documenting and transcribing inscriptions, prices and maker's names. Catherine Parsons was a close friend of Glaisher towards the end of his life and undertook to arrange and mount his valentine collection into albums from the Autumn of 1924 through to the Summer of the following year and beyond. 'L 1' inscribed in graphite onto the album leaf above the card. The origin is unknown, but similar markings in graphite are inscribed on cards and/or leaves in album P.14414-R.</value>
