A broad, ornate, lace-design wood cut border containing a tinted wood cut printed in blue ink with hand colouring of a pair of harvesters standing arm-in-arm, the female figure balancing a sheaf of corn on her head, the male figure carrying a sickle in his left hand. A letterpress verse is printed above and below: 'Let Love soft beaming from thine eyes / To me its bliss impart, / Like summer sun in orient skies, / Speak solace to my heart, / Oh! haste my love and name the day, / When I can call you mine, / And we to church shall haste away, / My Charming Valentine'. The interior is blank. The front is adhered to the back at upper and lower right. One of eight valentines with the same tinted wood cut design mounted together as a group in album P.14416-R. A hand-written inscription on the album leaf below P.14416-R-41: '6 /= a pair [6 shillings for a pair]', indicates that all eight were bought by Glaisher for 24 shillings or £1 and 4 shillings.
