IDENTIFIERS ----------- id: 215396 accession number: P.14418-R-48 DATE AUDIT ---------- created: Tuesday 14 February 2017 updated: Monday 29 May 2017 DESCRIPTIVE DATA ---------------- object type: White lace-paper and plain central panel with scalloped, lace-paper border. At the centre is a tied posy of flowers of silver embossed paper which is overlaid with a die-cut, chromolithographed posy of ivy and forget-me-nots. The whole bouquet lifts up to reveal a lithographed verse within an oval panel with an embossed border: 'Though other scenes / attract you now / And other friends / you find / Still let your love / unchanging flow / To those you leave / behind.'. The lace-paper front is adhered to the back paper. A hand-written inscription in graphite on the album leaf above: '1868', is probably a transcription of a date found on the verso of the valentine prior to mounting into the album. The hand is probably that of Catherine Parsons (1890-1956), who mounted and arranged Glaisher's valentine albums from the Autumn of 1924 through to the Summer of the following year and beyond. title: Valentine card LICENSING --------- text license status: CC0 image license status: CC-BY-NC-SA OWNERSHIP --------- instutition: The Fitzwilliam Museum department: Paintings, Drawings and Prints creditline: Bequeathed by Dr J.
