object type: Correspondence on white wove headed paper from E.W. Hiscoke of Hiscoke’s Library, New and Secondhand Booksellers, Stationers, etc., 22 Hill Street, Richmond, Surrey. The header design, printed in orange ink, states that the ‘Manager’ is Mr E.W. Hiscoke and that Hiscoke’s Library is a ‘Depot For “SWAN” PENS AND INKS’. A handwritten note in black ink to Glaisher, dated September 8th, 1928 and signed ‘E.W. Hiscoke’: ‘Dear Sir, / I take the liberty of sending herewith / 3 prints – kind of valentines – which I think might be of interest to you. I am asking / 7/6 for the 3 & shall be pleased to know / that you care to add them to your collection.’. The paper has a watermark: ‘”SWAN” PEN [image of swan and pen] / BOND’. 
Glaisher had bought a valentine from Hiscoke’s Library on July 30th 1928. See P.14554-R.
