Hiscoke and that Hiscoke’s Library is a ‘Depot For “SWAN” PENS AND INKS’. A handwritten note in black ink to Glaisher, dated September 8th, 1928 and signed ‘E.W. Hiscoke’: ‘Dear Sir, / I take the liberty of sending herewith / 3 prints – kind of valentines – which I think might be of interest to you. I am asking / 7/6 for the 3 & shall be pleased to know / that you care to add them to your collection.’. The paper has a watermark: ‘”SWAN” PEN [image of swan and pen] / BOND’. Glaisher had bought a valentine from Hiscoke’s Library on July 30th 1928.
