The paper is cut around the panel in an arch with small circular perforations and scalloped design around the edges. The silk panel is mounted, in landscape format, with delicate cutwork silhouettes in gold and silver paper of a milkmaid carrying a pail and stool, about to milk a cow at the centre. Trees to either side and birds in the air. The opposite leaf is folded and cut away with cutwork design of two swans and a small heart below. One of six cutwork valentines of a similar design, all with silk panels, silhouetted cutwork pictures and with cutwork mottoes/emblems.
