<note>
<value>Copeland's bust of Enid, 'the Fair and Good' was probably inspired by the Enid in Tennyson's Arthurian romance, 'Idylls of the King', a series of twelve poems published between 1859 and 1890. The character had first appeared in the Arthurian legend, 'Erec and Enide' by the French poet, Chrétien de Troy (c. 1130-c. 1180/90), and in the romance of Geraint and Enid in the The Mabinogion, a collection of medieval Welsh stories, which had been translated into English by Lady Charlotte Guest between 1839 and 1845.</value>

<value>The bust was modelled by Felix Martin Miller (1819-1908)</value>
