  <description>
    <value>Lobed tureen and cover. Hard-paste porcelain painted in underglaze blue with iron-red, green and black enamels and gilding. The tureen is heavily potted with lobed sides, and rests on a broad, low footring with a flat, recessed glazed base and rough foot, painted with a double line circle in underglaze blue. The body is boldly decorated with three shaped panels of chrysanthemum in a vase in front of a fence and reserved on a ground of narrow vertical panels painted with various diaper and scroll patterns. The footring is painted with a whorl pattern and a band of gilt scroll around the rim. The lobed cover, with rounded shoulders is similarly decorated with three shaped panels of chrysanthemum, a band of gilt scroll around the cover and a large knop. The rounded knop is painted with cloud scrolls in underglaze blue, iron-red and gilding, and a band of key pattern. Around the base is a zig-zag pattern and flower heads in iron-red and gilding. The interior has an undecorated white glaze.</value>
