The girl is seated and trying to repel the amorous advances of the creature which encircles her with his tentacles; she holds a knife in her right hand and an awabi shell in her left. Her finely incised hair is loosely tied back and stained; her facial features are stained. The octopus has finely carved tentacles, hollowed eyes and dark stained pupils.
