The man at the centre holding a three-legged table and with his head turned to see the police arrving at the far left, is Edward John Littleton. Beside him stand four fellow gamblers; Lord John Russell, Thomas Spring Rice, Lord Melbourne and Lord Brougham. Lord Althorp is the man fleeing the scene at the far right and Lord Grey flees at centre left. Edward Stanley is seen with the police at the far left, along with the Duke of Cumberland (with moustaches) the Duke of Wellington, Sir Robert Peel and Daniel O'Connell (the large man on the right). Signed with artist's monogram at lower left: 'HB'. Title printed below the border: 'DISPERSION OF THE THIMBLE-RIG.'. The publisher's details printed below the border to the left: 'Published by T.
