The three dogs to the right are Daniel O'Connell (sitting up on his hind legs), Lord Durham (wearing a gold collar) and Lord Brougham (cowering with his tail between his legs). In the background to the left of 'Jack' is another dog with the face of Joseph Hume. Signed with artist's monogram at lower left: 'HB'. Title printed below the border: '_JACK_ IN OFFICE.'.
