  <description>
    <value>Zweites Blatt' [Plate Two], printed at upper centre. Wood-engraving with a darker yellow tint. Death rides towards the town on the horse of Madness, carrying a scythe across his shoulder from which the scales of Justice dangle. His old-fashioned coat is references to the period of the French Revolution. A startled crow flies away in the right foreground and two frightened farmworkers recognise Death and flee at centre right. Four shorter verses by Reinick are set out below the image. The third verse describes how the cock's feather in the hat worn by Death 'glows in the sun, red as blood' ['Gl&#xFC;ht in der Sonne roth wie Blut'].</value>
