object type: A tinted lithograph (in pale yellow and white) on a large sheet of heavy, white wove paper within a narrow black border: a grey dappled horse, standing in profile, facing left. A background desert landscape with a broad river and buildings and mountains seen on the far shore. A tint-block of yellow is applied generally and a second tint-block of white is additionally applied to the horse. The title, presumably the name of the horse, followed by a description of its colouration, is given in German and French in the margin below the image at lower centre: 'GUMUSCH.BOURNON. / Apfelschimmel. \ Gris pommelé. [dapple grey]'. The artist's details below the image at lower left: 'Nach d. Leben gez. v. Rud. Kuntz.'. The printmaker's details below the image at lower right: 'Lithogr.v.L.Ekeman Alleson'.
