On the verso at upper left is an inscription written in brown ink which relates the print to the collection of John Chaloner Smith (1827-1895): 'JCSmith \/ 8.388(2)'. The Reverend Samuel Rogers, A.M. ('Artium Magister' or 'Master of Arts') (1732-1790), though Rector of Husbands Bosworth (from 1777) and Brampton and chaplain to Earl Spencer in Northamptonshire, actually resided in Bath. See Notes.
