12 5/8" x 16 3/4"

Framing border of repeating  flower and stem pattern. Within this border a crown centre top flanked by two angels, traditional flora and fauna motifs at the bottom, at either side 5 similar, symetrically placed flowerpot/vase motifs. 

Within the borders the inscription "The Request", a hymn of 3 verses.  "Father what more of Earthly Bliss/Thy Sovereign will denies/Accepted at the throne of Grace/ Let this Petition take (?)
Give me a calm & thankful Heart/From every murmer pass/The Blessings of thy Grace impart/And let me live to thee.
Let the sweet hope that I am thee/My life and Death attend/Thy presence through my journey shine/And crown my journeys end."
The hymn written by Anne Steele ( 1717-1778), b. Broughton, Hampshire to William Steele a baptist minister. Anne was a prolific hymn writer and essayist.

Beneath a geometric repeat pattern band  "Ann Legeir/ Aged 9 Years/1810"
