Damaged edges and holes. 32.5cm x 41cm 12 3/4" x 16 1/4" Repeat flower bud framing border, accurately resolved corners,enclosing four upper case alphabets ( different lettering styles), numerals 1-14 and a lower case alphabet, each band separated by a narrow repeat pattern band. There is also a verse: More than conqurors through the Lamb/They his victories proclaim/Cast their crowns before the throne/Savd by rich free grace alone. The two final bands are inscribed "Mary Ann Winsborrow's Work" , "In the 8th Year of her Age-1835" A girl of that name was born in Newton Abbott, Devon on the 9th August 1828, baptised St. Nicholas, Sheldon, 5 miles from Newton Abbott. Her father was a shoe maker.
