The smaller right hand portion of the sampler is inscribed with various improving aphorisms. There are randomly placed small motifs, predominantly cruciform, scattered amongst the inscriptions. Centre bottom the inscription is "With best love/ wishing you a/ happy birthday/ remember me" and, in a small frame "E.F.
