Walpole collection, Houghton Hall, England, ??-596). A scene at a fruit market; a large table laden with baskets of fruit at centre right, including a basket of apricots which a monkey is in the process of tipping over. A squirrel sits on the upper edge of the basket. Below the table are baskets of melons, pears, grapes, pomegranates and pineapples. To the left, a female customer carrying a basket of purchases on her left arm tests the firmness of apricots taken from a plate held by the stall holder.
