Este?ban Murillo (London, 1873), p.137). Three-quarter-length, seated and facing left. A ball of cloth on her lap, knitting with bone needles, yarn over her knee. A stick resting inside her left elbow. She wears a pale shawl around her head and there is a large hole in her dress on the sleeve of her left arm. title: print NOTES ----- type: history note value: VanSittart gave 1,485 engravings to the Fitzwilliam Museum in 1879 and this mezzotint was probably included within this group. The number written in pen and ink on the verso presumably relates to Vansittart's own cataloguing system and the number written in graphite on the verso to some kind of count by curators at the time of the acquisition.
