Portrait of William Howley (1766-1848), who was Bishop of London, 1813-1828 and Archbishop of Canterbury from 1828. Seated, three-quarter-length, turned alightly towards the right, head turned towards the left. Wearing a short wig, voluminous white surplice with preaching bands and tippet. He holds a document or letter in his lap.</value>
