The fish referred to was the standard dried stockfish or legal fish which was at least 57cm long or one \u0091el\u0092 of the Hamburg standard. Two fish were equal to one \u0091el\u0092 of home spun (wool cloth). The book was printed on the Bishop\u0092s press at Holar, which was until the nineteenth century the only press in Iceland.
