  <summary_title>half stater</summary_title>
  <title>
    <value>The Hekatomnid satrap Pixodaros succeeded his famous brother Mausolos to the throne of Caria. This is the largest denomination in gold issued in Caria. Four other half-staters are known, but this one is a new variety. It is a handsome coin of the finest mid-fourth century classical style.</value>
