  <description>
    <value>Clear glass, cut and wheel-engraved. Thistle-shaped bowl with facetted lower part; stem comprimising a cut knop and a cut baluster with basal collar; plain circular foot. The bowl is decorated with two hands clasping a covered cup below a sun inscribed above in a semi-circle 'Das Glas zerbricht die freund schaft nicht'. On the reverse there is a basket of flowers on a stand flanked by small oval medallions containing hunting scenes. These motifs are enclosed and linked by strap-work, foliated scrolls, swags, canopies, baskets and vases of flowers. The lower part of the bowl is decorated with scallops and small disks. On the foot there is a circle of foliated C scrolls and an edging of triangles.</value>
