    <value>Medal, framed, gilt uniface clich&#xE9;e, by Isaac Parkes (c.1792-1870) to mark the death of George III in 1820 (Brown, BHM no. 998).  Obv. three conjoined busts of George I, II, and III, seculo festas referenta luces ('Restoring yoyous light to the century'), this die having originally been engraved for the centenary of the accession of the House of Brunswick, 1814.  Mounted in its original rectangular ebonized frame, with original paper backing, ornamental brass fittings and black ribbon.</value>

Purchased for &#xA3;175 from Mr Martin Golding, Fellow of Peterhouse; formerly belonging to his mother  Mrs Joy Golding (1921-1953); before her to his grandmother Mrs Ruth Shaerf (1890-1965), who probably puchased it before the 1939-45 War.</value>
