object type: Tortoise-shell set with an enamelled miniature in a gilt metal mount.  The circular box has slightly concave sides and a slightly domed pull-off lid. The box is lined in silver gilt and has silver-gilt rim mounts.  The oval miniature depicts a green parrot in front of two peaches and a bunch of white grapes on a white napkin, with a mauve vase of roses and narcissi, a basket of fruit and a bottle in the background, all on a marble slab.
