  <description>
    <value>Stained glass. Stained glass, in the centre a coat of arms with architectural panels at the sides, the top with biblical scenes. At the bottom the name 'Frans Schott 1564' in Gothic letters in cartouche at base. Large elaborate shaped coat of arms in centre. At top - a lions mask and strap work in red glass at base a tree painted in green on yellow stain background. Plumage-type decoration in painted ruby in combination with yellow stain. Shield is framed on each side by a symmetrical arrangement of coloured panels in brown, red, green, mauve, brown, red glass (top to bottom). These are painted with architectural, Renaissance style ornament. The green sections (now scarcely decipherable) show upper half of female with folded arms, supporting column on her head. Base panels on either side in red glass show portion of classical urn.
Three biblical scenes at top: left 'The Gathering of Manna' - yellow glass through to green. In centre, upper half of a figure 'Moses holding the Tables', framed by a cartouche, clear glass with yellow stain. On right - 'The Raising of the Brazen Serpent', clear glass with yellow stain and blue through to green.
Much new leading. Parts of the mantling and some of the blue glass are restorations, some cracks in biblical scene, in inscription and bottom left sections.</value>
