Hard-paste porcelain painted underglaze in blue. The cup has deep curved sides, ring handles with a spur at the top and bottom, and stands on a footring. It is decorated on each side with a carp swimming to the left, one smaller than the other. The saucer is circular with very shallow curved sides with a slight central depression, and stands on a footring. The saucer is decorated with a carp, larger than the ones on the cup.
