The half-length Virgin embraces Christ Child who is standing on her left-hand side. The face of the Virgin touches the face of Christ Child, who clasps His mother’s veil with his left hand and holds himself on his mother’s right shoulder with his right hand. A classical-style band runs across the top of the Virgin’s head and through her curly hair, showing from the veil pushed backwards. Both the haloes are finely decorated. In the top part of the relief there is a garland hanging behind the Virgin’s head. The relief is in a glazed rectangular carved and gilt wood frameM.6-19261accession numberM.6-192629635priref29635external IDCAM_CCF_M_6_1926urihttps://data.fitzmuseum.cam.ac.uk/id/object/29635https://data.fitzmuseum.cam.ac.uk/id/object/29635referenceagent-149638adlib-agent-1496387376d833-d0a7-3be0-916e-9c892b7a24d8The Fitzwilliam MuseumF.
