  <description>
    <value>Each of the drawings is framed by a border of gold paint of varying size according to the depth of the painted area. The drawings on white laid paper, watermarked with a bunch of grapes are bound into an album with a contemporary gold-tooled limp vellum cover bearing the arms, recto and verso of Louise of Lorraine (1553-1601). This, in turn, is bound into an eighteenth century French red morocco gilt binding. The spine is lettered in gold (see 'inscriptions/marks'.) Each of the drawings is framed by a border of gold paint of varying size according to the depth of the painted area. Blank ff not detailed elsewhere.</value>
