  <description>
    <value>Virgin and Child Enthroned, carved in boxwood; pierced and in relief. Within an oblong frame is the flowering vine (the symbol of the Church), which divides to form an oval frame around the centre. In the centre are the Virgin and Child on a throne of marked Eastern character (especially tall legs), with two cherubins above and an archangel on either side in adoration. In the four corners are the Evangelists with scrolls.</value>
