object type: Pale buff earthenware, slip-cast, and decorated in dark manganese-brown under yellowish lead-glaze. The cat is seated on an integrally moulded base of elongated D-shape with an inward curve at the front between its feet. The base is unglazed and is open underneath. The cat sits up with its tail wrapped around its right back leg and its head turned towards the viewer. The eyes are picked out in dark brown, and the body is streaked with dark brown which has run under the yellowish lead-glaze.
