object type: Soft-paste porcelain basket and cover, moulded, printed, and painted underglaze in blue. The quatrelobed oval basket has steep sloping sides, moulded with quatrefoil  florettes within hexagonal cells, and with two crabstock handles with applied flower and leaf terminals. The pierced quatrelobed  cover is pierced with an oval panel of latticework in the centre, and radiating tapering panels decorated with quatrefoil florettes. Its crabstock handle has applied flower and leaf terminals. The interior of the basket is printed with 'The Ripe Pomegranate' pattern, with a painted lambrequin border round the rim. The moulded florettes and applied flowers and leaves are picked out in blue underglaze. The handle and its terminals are also picked out in blue underglaze.
