The uneven underside is glazed beneath the edge, and unglazed in the middle where there is a circular ventilation hole, and two firing cracks. The man reclines against a rock on shaped, rococo scroll-edged base with an applied rose and three leaves between his feet. He holds a basket in his left hand, his right hand raised. He has brown hair, eyebrows, and eyes, ruddy cheeks, and red lips. He wears a shirt with ruffles at the cuffs, a blue jacket lined with white, a pink waistcoat decorated with puce embroidery, yellow breeches, and black shoes.
