The jug has a globular body, moulded at base and shoulders with a broad band of pointed leaves separated by alternate single and double sunflower heads. It stands on a waisted foot, and has a sparrow beak spout and scrolled strap handle. The cylindrical neck is moulded with a band of sunflowers on a seeded ground. The jug is painted with a continuous scene, showing a man out walking in a river landscape with pagodas on islands among willow trees, sampans and birds in flight.
