The underside is unglazed and has a circular hole off centre. The approximately oval base has a rocaille 'frill' round the edge, picked out in gold, and three leaves and a flower on the top. The boy sits on a brown basket filled with pink flowers. His left foot is on the ground and his other foot raised slightly. He leans over towards his left, holding a garland of pink flowers in both hands. He is bareheaded and barefooted, and wears a pink jacket with gold buttons, and blue bows on the shoulders, and green breeches with pink flowers around the knees.
