The concave underside is glazed including all but one of the feet. The rounded rectangular base has five scroll feet, with a central pierced rocaille motif between the front two. At the back there is a tall tree stump with a square aperture at the bottom to take an attachment, and a branch on each side bearing polychrome applied flowers and leaves. Venus stands with her left foot crossed over her right, and leans back against the top of the tree on her left elbow. She holds out her right hand towards the viewer. She has reddy cheeks, and brown hair partly drawn back into a bun and partly loose. She wears a gold necklace and a mauve and gold bangle on her right upper arm; a flowered tunic with blue and gold edges which is long at the back, thigh-length at the front and off the right shoulder so as to reveal her right bosom. Across her back she has a turquoise drape with a dark pink lining attached to her left shoulder by a brooch. She has underglaze blue and pink toeless boots. On the ground to her left there are two turtledoves painted in pink and dark grey among flowers and leaves, and to her right a group of flowers and leaves.
