The closed under-side is unglazed and has a circular ventilation hole in the middle. The almost circular, high mound base has a square aperture at the back to take an attachment. The front is decorated in relief with rococo scrolls and moss, and with two applied flowers each with five leaves. On the proper right side there is a large vase with scrolled shoulders bedecked with a garland of flowers and foliage, and containing an arrangement of flowers. Flora stands beside it with her right leg forward, her right arm curved round the top of the vase and her left arm in front of her and across her body. She has a green and blue jewel on her forehead, a bunch of flowers on the left side of her head and a black bow on the back of it. She wears a long, flowing, pink drape with a white lining with a polychrome floral pattern, which passes over her right shoulder, across her back, and down to the ground. It is held round her waist at the front by a black belt. The scrolls on the base are picked out in pale purple, and the moss is pale green. The two flowers are yellow with blue centres and the leaves are green. The flowers in and on the vase are multicoloured.C.29-19321accession numberC.29-193241773priref41773urihttps://data.fitzmuseum.cam.ac.uk/id/object/41773https://data.fitzmuseum.cam.ac.uk/id/object/41773referenceagent-149638adlib-agent-1496387376d833-d0a7-3be0-916e-9c892b7a24d8The Fitzwilliam MuseumGiven by Mrs W.D. The figure was based on a Meissen model from a set of Seasons of c. 1755-60, by F.E. Meyer, see pp. 114-20, the set; Spring, pp. 115-6, no. 50, form 2730, where the Bow model in the British Museum is mentioned. The exact date of this model is not known because the Meissen records for 1749-63 are missing. Rückert considered 1760 the likely date on the basis of the form number, which would place the Bow figure a little later.pp. 114-20referencepublication-2797adlib-publication-2797f69be637-b908-3a88-88e7-6edf693f4d14Musée Cognacq-Jay, II, PorcelainesRef.
