The unglazed underside has a central circular ventilation hole. The high scrolled base has a square aperture in the back to take an attachment and a circular hole in the front, and is decorated on the top with applied flowers and leaves. Bacchus stands with his right leg forward, and rests his right elbow on top of a ewer filled with grapes. He holds a cup in his right hand and a bunch of grapes in his left, which is held up in front of his chest. He wears a vine wreath on his head, and a yellow drape lined with a blue and puce floral pattern, and edged with gold. A rabbit is suspended from a belt crossing his torso diagonally. The ewer is decorated with puce scrolls and rocaille ornament picked out in gold, surrounding a spray of polychrome flowers.
