Soft-paste porcelain containing bone ash, figure of a Dancing Shepherdess, press-moulded with hand-modelled details, and very slightly turquoise-tinted glaze, painted overglaze in blue, green, turquoise, yellow, flesh-pink, dark pink, red, purple, brown, and grey enamels, and gilt. The glazed underside has a small circular ventilation hole under the figure. The approximately circular base has incurved sides with five pierced holes at the front, and a scrolled edge forming five low supports. At the back there is a low stump with a triangular aperture to take an attachment, and two short lateral branches bearing applied flowers and foliage. The shepherdess stands with her right leg forward. She holds up a wreath of flowers in her left hand, and with her right hand holds up her skirt. She wears a white cap and a yellow hat with a pink underside and gold edge; a blue bodice with a red and gold triangle patterned stomacher; a purple and yellow striped skirt at the back, and a floral pattern in red, blue, purple and gold at the front; an apron with a red, green, and gold floral pattern, and purple shoes with gold buckles. On her left there is a recumbent lamb with pale red and white patchy fleece, grey feet, and a gold collar. Beside her feet there are two groups of three flowers and leaves.
