The underside is concave and glazed except for the flat edge. The shallow base is roughly square with rounded corners and has at the back, a tree stump with a branch projecting to proper left. The Waterman stands with his left leg slightly forward and the toe of his foot projecting a little way over the edge of the base, and his right leg resting against the tree trunk. His left arm is stretched out, and his right is hanging by his side. He wears a black and green cap, a green coat with a gathered skirt, pink lining, and black buttons, a flowered waistcoat, a pink and yellow striped scarf, pale blue breeches with darker blue knee band, and black shoes. On his left arm he has an oval badge painted in purple with ADD.
