    <value>Soft-paste porcelain figure of a girl representing Europe, painted in polychrome enamels, and gilt.</value>
  </description>
  <description>
    <value>Soft-paste porcelain, slip-cast, and painted over lead-glaze in greyish-blue, two shades of green, yellow, pink, red, purple, brown, and grey enamels, and gilt. The underside is glazed except for the edge, and has a large central circular ventilation hole. The roughly circular base has a tree stump at the back with a branch on the viewer's left, and at the front, a semi-circular panel inscribed 'EUROPE' in gold, flanked by frilly scrolls. Europe stands on both feet, her head turned slightly to her left, and her left arm raised, holding a missing object. her left arm is by her side, the hand supporting the lower end of a cornucopia of fruit, including bunches of grapes. She wears a gold headband, a bluish-green tunic with a pattern of groups of purple spots between vertical lines of leaves, with six gold buttons on the skirt, and a pink marbled cloak with a blue lining. At her feet there is a gold sceptre and crown, a brown mallet (?), a pair of dividers, and a gold helmet over a red book. The tree trunk is brown and green with green applied leaves, and the scrolls on the front are picked out in pink and gold.</value>
