object type: Soft-paste porcelain figure of a sportswoman holding a partridge, slip-cast, lead-glazed, and painted onglaze in a little blue, turquoise, green, yelllow, flesh pink, purple, red, brown, and black enamels, and gilt. The unglazed underside has a large round central ventilation hole, and three patch marks. The mound base has at the back a tree trunk with a branch and leaves on the viewer's left, and a root at bottom right. There are three groups of applied leaves on the front of the base. The sportswoman stands on her left leg with her right slightly advanced. She holds a partridge (?) on her left hand, and with her right supports a gun which rests on its butt beside her. She has brown hair and eyes, pink cheeks, and red lips. She wears a round hat with a red brim and two white feathers at the front; a pink jacket with yellow collar, cuffs, and lining, gold buttons, and edges, and a matching skirt hitched up to show a petticoat scattered with red and blue flowers and purple leaves, and edged with gold.
