  <description>
    <value>Mourning 'fausse montre' locket. Gilt metla (probably a copper alloy), hair (of Swinburne and Rossetti) and white silk. Circular with chased gold ring for suspension. The front and back engine-turned with a radiating geometrical pattern. The border chased with flowers and foliage in rococo style. Inside is a circular compartment lined with white silk on which lies a dark brown and a light brown curl of hair decorated with gold wire covered with a convex glass disc. On the interior of the hinged cover is the engraved inscription:

and of A.C. Swinburne
cut in 1870
given to S.C. Cockerell
by W.M. Rossetti in 1910
