Painted in blue and with brassy-yellow lustre. Circular with slightly sloping, narrow rim; wide, shallow well with a space for the ewer in the centre, surrounded by a circular rib and further out by two less pronounced mouldings. (Poole 1995, Shape 71). In the middle, a woman, half-length in profile to left, faces a plant with three flowers, enclosed by a circular rib and a broad lustre band decorated with blue interlace. The sides are divided into six panels by radial lines flanking stems with four buds; three panels are decorated with scale pattern and three with a formal plant. A rod entwined by ribbon encircles the rim. On the back are concentric lustre bands: one close to the centre, two close together, one alone and two more close together.
